Present: Wendy Duff, Jackie Spence, Andrea Johnson, Geoff Pick, Amanda Hill, Charlotte Hodgson, Helen Tibbo, Ian Anderson
Briefing for new members on the background to AX-SNet and the research framework established at the Harnosand and Glasgow meetings.
Discussion followed on the current research and practice landscape and where the gaps are that collaborative AX-SNet research might fill within the three strands of academic, community and practitioner.
Possibilities included:
- Developing a European version of the AX-SNet archive user questionnaire
- Introduction of impact measures in PSQG (Public Service Quality Group) surveys
- A UK workshop along the lines of the AX-SNet ACA Institute, possibly linking with the Archives Hub and Spokes
- A town meeting on impacts, impact measures and values with the objective of matching a package of impacts with a package of methods
- Using the PSQG annual forum in November to float ideas and possibly establish a working group and/or pilot study
- Re-use of existing PSQG data held by IPF (Institute of Public Finance)/CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy), need for normalisation and identification of gaps, may help orientate PSQG towards MLA (Museums, Library and Archives Council)/DCMS (Department of Culture, Media and Sport)
